We are applying for funding under consideration of the Pilot track. We will lead the development and implementation of an enhanced tri-community Community-Based Intervention Model.
Community violence intervention (CVI) is an approach that uses evidence-informed strategies to reduce violence through tailored community-centered initiatives. These multidisciplinary strategies engage individuals and groups to prevent and disrupt cycles of violence and retaliation, and establish relationships between individuals and community assets to deliver services that save lives, address trauma, provide opportunity, and improve the physical, social, and economic conditions that drive violence.
The Community Violence Intervention (CVI) programs focus on reducing homicides and shootings by establishing relationships with people at the center of gun violence in our communities. These programs support people at the highest risk of being both victims or perpetrators—or both—of violence.
The hub-and-spoke organization design is a model which arranges service delivery assets into a network consisting of an anchor establishment (hub) which offers a full array of services, complemented by secondary establishments (spokes) which offer more limited-service arrays.
The hub and spoke approach is very important to providing young people with the services and support that they need. It also allows us to partner with other community-based organizations (CBOs) that provide a specific service (which will be consider spokes).
